South Oxford Storm Announces Development Agreement
South Oxford announces partnership with Athlete Farm Training for comprehensive skill development program

SOUTH OXFORD [August 19, 2023]South Oxford Minor Hockey (SOMH) is thrilled to announce a significant partnership with Athlete Farm Training (AFT), a renowned and professional training service specializing in hockey player development. This partnership marks an exciting step forward for the development of SOMH players, providing access to high-quality on and off-ice training services, aimed at enhancing their skills and overall performance on the hockey rink.

Under this formal agreement, SOMH has partnered with AFT to deliver a comprehensive skill development program that encompasses both dry-land (off-ice) sessions and on-ice training. AFT's experienced and skilled strength coaches will conduct these sessions, tailoring them specifically to each age group to ensure players receive the maximum benefit from the training.

The skill development program will progress throughout the hockey season, adapting to each player's evolving abilities. This approach aims to build a consistent and progressive development model that fosters players' physical capabilities, enhances their overall skill set, deepens their understanding of the game, and boosts their confidence on the ice.

"We are thrilled to enter into this partnership with Athlete Farm Training," said Stephen Gradish, President of South Oxford Minor Hockey. "This collaboration will provide our players with access to top-tier training services that are designed to elevate their performance and foster their passion for the game. We believe that investing in our players' skill development is crucial to support their growth as athletes and individuals."

The skill development program offered by AFT aims to add significant value to South Oxford Minor Hockey, enhancing the competitiveness of the organization and contributing to the long-term success of its players. By focusing on both off-ice and on-ice training, the program aims to create well-rounded athletes with a strong foundation in both physical and technical aspects of the game.

"Athlete Farm Training is delighted to partner with South Oxford Minor Hockey in this venture," said Luke VanMoerkerke, Co-Owner of Athlete Farm Training. "Our team of experienced coaches is dedicated to helping young athletes reach their full potential. We look forward to providing SOMH players with the tools and training they need to excel in the sport they love."

AFT is involved in athlete training and skill development with a wide range of organizations, including Brantford Minor Hockey Association and the Junior A Brantford 99ers of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Through this collaboration, SOMH aims to foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the organization, benefiting all players and contributing to the overall growth of hockey in the South Oxford region.
