East Gwillimbury tournament semi finals
On Sunday morning, the South Oxford 3E Power U18 Storm played the Welland Tigers in the semi finals of the Dunsmuir Memorial tournament.

Even though this was a semi final game, i think people that were at this game would agree that this was the game of the tournament. It had everything from big checks, solid defense, a couple of goals, a little chirping and outstanding goaltending.

In the first, bodies were flying, mouths were flapping and Cale Arvai opened the scoring when he picked the top corner breaking the scoreless draw.

In the middle frame, both teams took turns going to the penalty box but had nothing to show for it as the score remained 1-0 going into the final frame. In the third, Welland was putting the pressure on and it finally paid off when the tied the game up. Both teams tried their best to break the tie but Jaxon Pinard and the goalie from Welland were up the challenge. This game was going to OT!!!

The OT periods were three minutes in length and started 4 v 4. Neither team could find the back of the net so we were heading to the second OT. This time it was 3 V 3 for three minutes. Again the netminders were the stars of the OT as nobody scored. It was heading to a third OT and this time, it was 2 v 2!!! Well, Jaxon Pinard had the save of the game and possibly the season keeping the boys alive!!! Once again nobody scored. Off to the shootout! It went through two rounds before Nate Crane scored. The Welland player answered the call by scoring to keep the game going. It went through two more rounds with nobody scoring until Welland finally scored to win the game.

Even though the boys came out on the wrong on of the game, they showed heart and grit and Jaxon Pinard was definitely the star of the game for the boys.

The South Oxford 3E Power U18 Storm don't have much time to dwell on the game as they play tonight at the storm shelter vs Dorchester.

Good Luck boys!!!
