Inching closer!!!
Last night, the South Oxford 3E Power U18 Storm headed west down the 403 to Strathroy to take on the Rockets and inch closer to a berth in the OMHA semi finals.

This game turned out to be a nail biter with the boys playing from behind for the majority of the game. The Rockets came out flying, scoring twice early in the period. The boys fought back, getting one when Noa Black cut the lead in half with Liam Nunn getting the helper on the goal.

In the middle period, the boys went to the power play but it was the Rockets that capitalized on a Storm miscue and scored a shortly making it a two goal lead. Not to be outdone, the boys were down a man but Josh Robles buried a shortly of his own once again cutting the lead to one. Cale Arvai had the helper on the goal.

With the boys down by one in the third, the boys had an odd man rush and Johnny Lamers was able to even the score with Quinn Lessif getting the assist on the goal. Riley Vyse did his part to keep the game tied and to give the boys a chance to pull one out in the end. Unfortunately, the game remained tied with a 3-3 final.

With the tie, the boys gained a very important point in the standings and inched closer to a spot in the OMHA semi finals.

The South Oxford 3E Power U18 Storm head home to the storm shelter for a game against Mt. Brydges tonight. The Cougars have been a thorn in the side of the boys all season. Hopefully, the boys can maul the Cougars and get one step closer to the championships.

Good luck boys!!!
