Silver Stick Woodstock semi finals
The South Oxford U16 BrokerLink Storm played in the semi finals against Norfolk this morning with a chance to go the championship game.
The boys came out with a purpose in this game. It was a fast paced first period with both teams getting their chances but Eli North opened the scoring with a beauty solo effort. Two minutes later, Liam Nunn made it 2-0 scoring from his knees with Ethan Kish getting the helper. With the Storm rolling, they weren't done as Tyler Fleming took a pass from Kellen Whetstone making it 3-0 after the first.
In the second, after a goalie change, Norfolk would cut the led to two, but late in the period, Jeremy Stiles found some room and went down the wing. He snapped a shot low glove side beating the goalie making the score 4-1 going into the final frame.
In the third, Norfolk was trying everything to beat Jaxon Pinard but had no luck. Eli North scored his second of the game making the score 5-1. Norfolk would add 1 more but that was as close as they would get. The defense stepped up, shutting down the chances from Norfolk making the final 5-2.
The South Oxford U16 BrokerLink Storm advanced to the silver stick championship game against an old rival from Strathroy.
