Championship series game 1
Last night, the South Oxford U16 BrokerLink Storm hosted the St. Mary's Rock in game one of their championship series at a loud and boisterous barn in Ingersoll.
In the opening frame, the Rock controlled the pace of the period and it caught the boys off guard. Storm net minder Jaxon Pinard had a stand out performance for the boys keeping them in the game. The score remained deadlocked at zero going into the second frame.
In the middle frame, the boys ran into penalty trouble and in cost them late in the period when the Rock opened the scoring. That was all the scoring in the period, but the bodies were flying all over the place.
In the final frame, the Rock went into shut down mode not allowing the boys many opportunities and unfortunately the final score was 1-0.
Again, Jaxon Pinard was the star of the game for the boys. He was outstanding all night.
The South Oxford U16 BrokerLink Storm travel to St. Mary's on Wednesday night to try to even the series and stay alive. Game time is 8:30pm.
