Back to back with Norfolk
Last Sunday the South Oxford U16 BrokerLink Storm played the first of a home and home vs Norfolk.
Coming off an emotional game the night before against St. Mary's, the boys came out flat in this Sunday afternoon tilt.
Norfolk would control the majority of the first period and it paid off for them when they opened the scoring. The Knights would take a 1-0 lead into the second frame.
The boys started to wake up in the second, when the captain Cole Shoup evened the score. Shortly after, the boys would take the lead when call up Tyler Davis-Zimmer would find a juicy rebound and make no mistake burying the puck into the back of the net. Liam Nunn and Ethan Kish would get assists on the goal. Again, the boys sloppy play would catch up to them and Norfolk would score twice before the end of the period taking the lead 3-2 going to the third.
In the final frame, the boys showed some life again when Liam Nunn continued his hot streak evening the score with Noa Black and Kolten Winkworth getting the assists on the goal. 15 seconds later the captain Cole Shoup would score the eventual winner with Jeremy Stiles and Kolten Winkworth getting the assists on the goal.
The boys would go into shut down mode and not allow the Knights to even the score as the game got a little chippy near the end which could make the rematch very interesting.
Riley Vyse was solid between the pipes for the Storm leading them to the 4-3 victory. The South Oxford U16 BrokerLink Storm would head to Waterford on Thursday for the back end of the home and home games.
