Visiting the Rock
On Wednesday night, the South Oxford U16 BrokerLink Storm headed north to St. Mary's to take on the rock.
This is a possible playoff matchup in the near future so both teams looked to gain an advantage as we inch closer to that time.
In the first the pace was fast and the bodies were flying. The boys had the first real opportunity of the period when they headed to the power play. Unfortunately the boys had trouble getting the puck out of own zone and it cost them as St. Mary's would capitalize on a costly turnover and taking the lead going into the second period.
In the second, the pace was just as quick but neither team could beat the net minders. Let in the period, St Mary's would add to the lead taking a 2-0 advantage going into the final frame.
In the final period, the boys carried the play for the part of the final frame but had no luck finding the back of the net. Riley Vyse was great in net in a losing cause as the boys were shut out 2-0.
The South Oxford U16 BrokerLink Storm didn't have much time to dwell on the loss as they would head to Waterford to take on Norfolk on Thursday.
