Road trip to Waterford
On Thursday night, the South Oxford U16 BrokerLink Storm headed southeast to Waterford to take on Norfolk.
The boys were trying to bounce back from a tough loss the night before. Every point is important this late in the season as the boys are battling for first place in the Shamrock league.
In the first, it was a physical game with both teams trying to establish their dominance on one another. Midway through the period, the boys struck first when Brody Huitema's shot was tipped in by Eli North. Jeremy Stiles had the other assist on the goal.
With the boys leading in the second, they ran into some penalty trouble. Norfolk made the boys pay by scoring a power play goal and evening the score. The score was tied as we headed into the final frame.
In the third, both teams were trying to break the tie but were unable to do so as the final score was 1-1. Riley Vyse was fantastic between the pipes for the boys. The boys have one game remaining in the regular season and every point is critical. With the regular season winding down, the fight for top spot will be very tight. The boys could finish anywhere from 1st to 4th in the final regular season standings.
The south Oxford U16 BrokerLink Storm play their final regular season game a week from Saturday at home vs Dorchester at the barn in Ingersoll. Game time is 7pm
