Final game of the regular season
Last night the South Oxford U16 BrokerLink Storm played their last game of the regular season last night at the barn in Ingersoll against Dorchester.
With the win, the boys would seal up first place in the Shamrock league as they head into the playoffs. In the first, the boys came out full of energy and it paid off on the scoreboard. The captain Cole Shoup opened the scoring with assists going to Eli North and Liam Nunn. Less then two minutes later Liam Nunn broke loose and scored a shorty going high glove side. Dorchester scored late in the period making the score 2-1 going into the second period.
In the second frame, the boys broke the game wide open scoring four in the period. Tyler Fleming opened the scoring with assists going to Ryan Gregg and Liam Nunn. Liam Nunn would score his second of the night with the helpers going to Kolten Winkworth and Brock McDowell. Eli North would increase the lead with Tyler Fleming and Noa Black being credited with the assists. Liam Nunn would round out the scoring in the period with his third of the game with Noa Black and Urijah Jewkes getting the helpers.
With the game well in hand, the boys went into shut down mode, but they would add one more when Eli North took a feed from the starting goalie Riley Vyse and buried his shot. Riley Vyse was big when called upon and he led the South Oxford U16 BrokerLink Storm to the convincing 7-1 victory.
Playoffs should start this week as the South Oxford U16 BrokerLink Storm continue there quest to the OMHA championships.
