Storm keep rolling
Last night, the South Oxford U16 Brokerlink Storm hosted St. Thomas in the first of a home and home against the stars in Tillsonburg.
In the first, it was slow start for the boys as they were held off the scoreboard in the opening frame.
In the second, the boys found their legs and Liam Nunn opened the scoring early in the period. Kellen Whetstone and Urijah Jewkes had the assists on the goal. As the period wore on, the boys went to the power play and Kellen Whetstone made no mistake with Noa Black and the captain Cole Shoup getting the assists on the goal.
With the boys up by two in the third, they put the game out of reach when they scored three times in the final frame. Jeremy Stiles opened the scoring in the period with Eli North and Brody Huitema getting the helpers. Shortly after that, Kellen Whetstone had his second of the game with Ethan Kish and Liam Nunn getting the assists. The captain Cole Shoup rounded out the scoring in the period with Eli North being credited with the helper.
Although not tested much, Jaxon Pinard was solid earning the shutout leading the boys to the convincing 5-0 victory. The South Oxford U16 BrokerLink Storm head to St. Thomas tonight for the back end of the home and home with the Stars.
